Capitolo Sud è un’esperienza immersiva di lettura, patrocinata dal FAI Giovani di Bari, che coinvolgerà circa trenta lettrici e lettori da tutta Italia per un weekend di relax e nuove amicizie, accompagnate da un nuovo e intrigantissimo titolo di Neri Pozza.
From November 27 to 29, we’ll be meeting in Puglia— more specifically in Bisceglie – to slow down, read, enjoy good food, explore the area, and share the same story, page after page.
Program
Venerdì 27 novembre — Il primo capitolo
Arrivo, check-in e consegna del kit di lettura. Il tempo di sistemarsi, conoscersi e iniziare insieme
le prime pagine del nostro weekend.
Sabato 28 novembre — Tra pagine e territorio
Dopo la colazione partiremo insieme alla scoperta di un frantoio pugliese, tra visita, degustazione di olio e pranzo. Sarà poi il momento di tornare al libro, con una sessione di lettura e il primo confronto guidato da Pinetta Leonetti Di Vagno, alias @theworldofpini.
Nel pomeriggio rientreremo in struttura per un po’ di tempo libero, prima di ritrovarci a Trani per la cena.
Domenica 29 novembre — L’ultimo capitolo
Dopo la colazione e qualche pagina insieme, ci sposteremo in agriturismo per trascorrere la giornata tra lettura e natura. Se il tempo lo permetterà, ad aspettarci ci sarà la pineta;
altrimenti continueremo a leggere negli spazi interni.
After lunch at the farmhouse, we’ll take a little more time to work on our book beforeour final discussion with Pini. One last chance to share thoughts, impressions, and highlighted passages before we say goodbye.
A Story to Read Together
For this first edition, in collaboration with Neri Pozza Editore, we will be reading *Yesteryear*, the new novel by Caro Claire Burke, which will be released in Italy on November 10 and will be provided to you as soon as you arrive at the venue. The book, which blends satire and dystopia, is the biting, compelling, and unsettling tale of a “tradwife” (traditional wife), Natalie Mills—one of the many American influencers who celebrate rustic, traditional living on social media—who is transported back in time to 1855 to confront the harsh reality behind the comfortable fantasy she has constructed. A movie starring Anne Hathaway is coming out soon—we can’t very well show up unprepared, can we?
Puglia, Beyond the Pages
"Capitolo Sud" begins here, and we want Puglia to be part of the story. From the olive mill to the countryside, all the way to dinner in Trani, the weekend will also be a chance to discover the region through its places, flavors, and rhythms.
Reading together is a whole different story
There will be a maximum of 30 readers, the perfect number for us to really get to know each other and make new friends. Over the weekend, Pinetta Leonetti Di Vagno, aka @theworldofpini, will guide us through moments of discussion: a space to talk about what we’re reading, hear different interpretations, and share what a story leaves us with.
